Zefunot Culture introduced Muhammad to its audience in 2015 and awarded him scholarships in 2015 and 2016.
BIOGRAPHY
Mohammed Alshaikh was born in Russia. Aged 9, he started to study piano at the Barenboim Said Foundation music school in Ramallah. From 2013, he has been studying at the Magnificat institute for music in Jerusalem where he continues his studies with Emma Spitkovsky.
Among the competitions Mohammed has won:
1st prize in his category at the Magnificat ‘Nikolaus de la Flüe’ Piano Competition in Jerusalem - 2013, 2014, 2015 and 2016
1st prize at the 4th Chopin Piano Competition in Bethlehem and 1st prize at the Palestine National Music Competition Chopin - 2014
1st prize in his category at the International Competition of Young Pianists dedicated to the Work of ‘Fryderyk Chopin’ 2016 - Estonia
1st prize in the First Barenboim Said Competition of music in Palestine - 2016
Grand-Prix in Concurso Virtual de Piano Villahermosa - 2016 - México

2015 - The XII International Festival ‘Moscow Meet Friends’ under the direction of Vladimir Spivakov. ‘Sobinovskaya Estafeta’ in the Saratov State Conservatory of L.V.Sobinova, recitals in Tel Aviv and Kfar-Saba (Israel)
2016 - The 3rd Trans-Siberian Art Festival, Israel
Mohammed took part in a master class with Maestro Daniel Barenboim 2016 - Berlin.
Mohammed appeared on the Israeli Educational Television program “Intermezzo with Arik” where he performed and was interviewed by Prof. Arie Vardi.
